Transport Minister Daryl Vaz says his ministry is moving assiduously to resolve the parking issue affecting public transport operators across the Kingston Metropolitan Transport Region (KMTR).
During Monday’s meeting between the Government and the operators, Mr. Vaz was questioned about the progress of providing them with adequate parking.
The operators expressed concern over being ticketed in zones where authorities had previously permitted them to park.
In response, Mr. Vaz said the ministry is in receipt of a proposal from the Transport Authority and other stakeholders which is being reviewed.
He said the project requires funding and that this will be discussed with the finance minister during upcoming deliberations.
