Wendy’s Jamaica has invested over $300 million in its newest location at Whitter Village, Montego Bay, marking the brand’s second foray into the resort town.

This expansion forms part of Wendy’s strategic push to extend its footprint beyond the Kingston and St Andrew metropolitan area while playing a greater role in Jamaica’s economic development.

The Whitter Village branch is already making an impact on the local economy. Of the 28 positions available, 16 team members have been hired so far, creating much-needed job opportunities for Montego Bay residents.

Speaking at the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony, Michelle Myers Mayne, Director of GARA Restaurants Limited, underscored Wendy’s commitment to Jamaica. “At Wendy’s, our goal is not just to grow the business, but we care deeply about deepening our connection with Jamaican people,” Myers Mayne said.

She continued, “We’re thrilled to invest once more in the city of Montego Bay and to create opportunities for its residents as well as citizens in surrounding areas. Wendy’s is a family brand first, and we are ecstatic to undertake residents of Montego Bay into our family. The community’s support so far has been incredible, and we’re excited to continue building those relationships.”

Beyond its operations, Wendy’s is dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the community through initiatives in education, youth empowerment, and local partnerships. “Our Whitter Village location represents Wendy’s commitment to delivering great food, developing meaningful relationships, and supporting the communities we serve,” Myers Mayne added.
