Woman killed, her mother wounded during gun attack in Patrick City, Kingston

A woman was shot and killed while her mother was wounded during an attack in Patrick City, Kingston, this morning.

Dead is 26 year old Maya Ashley, an accountant of Appleton Avenue in Patrick City.

Reports are that about 5 a-m, Ashley picked up her mother, who resides in the United States of America, at the Norman Manley International Airport.

While travelling home to Patrick City, they were pounced on by unknown assailants, who opened gun fire at the car.

Ashley attempted to drive away but the car crashed into a fence. 

The police were summoned.

The 2 women were taken to hospital where Ashley was pronounced dead and her mother was admitted in serious condition.
