Detectives assigned to the St James police division arrested and charged three men with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.
This is following an incident on the North Coast Highway in the parish on Thursday, December 19.
They are 32-year-old Flyod Bowen otherwise called ‘Rasta’, of Corner Lane Road, Content,Adelphi, St. James.
Nineteen-year-old Andeeno Josephs otherwise called ‘Deno’, of Cooperwood, St James.
Sixty-two-year-old Romaine Reid otherwise called ‘Tip Gad’ of Capital Heights, Green Pond, St James.
Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that at about 12:15 pm, lawmen conducted an operation along the highway when they intercepted a motor vehicle with three men.
Upon the approach of the police, the men started acting in a manner that aroused their suspicion.
The car was searched and a springfield XD-9 compact pistol affixed with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds of ammunition was found under the dashboard.
The men were arrested and subsequently charged. Their court date is being finalised.
