Officer attached to the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID), arrested and charged 75-year-old Canadian pensioner, Kenneth Daley at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston on Wednesday, December 4.
Reports are that Daley was attempting to board a flight to Canada, when he was intercepted b officers, a search of his luggage revealed four (4) kilograms of cocaine concealed in food packages marked "Festival Mix," "Mega Punch," and "Jablum Coffee".
He was arrested and brought into custody.
Daley has since been charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to export cocaine, possession of criminal property, and conspiracy.
"We are committed to disrupting and dismantling the networks of those who seek to traffic ill firearms and drugs through our borders," said Superintendent Samuel Blake, Head of the Fire. and Narcotics Investigation Division.
He went on in saying "This arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of our collaborative efforts with border protection agencies to protect our border from the illicit trafficking of narcotics and firearms."
Daley's court date is being finalized. -
