An ex-policeman has been taken into custody as the investigation into how a Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier was killed during a recent operation in downtown Kingston intensifies.
According to reports, sometime after 1pm on Friday, August 23, Private Ejay Domville was part of a military team on foot patrol in the Charles Street and Chestnut Lane area of downtown Kingston when he was killed while in pursuit of gunmen.
An investigation was launched into the development and a man said to be an ex-cop has been arrested in relation to the incident.
According to a police source, a team of officers carried out a targeted operation which resulted in the arrest of the former lawman.
The source said the police are in pursuit of other suspects.
