666 murders were recorded in Jamaica up to Saturday, December 27.
This is 476 fewer than the 1,142 recorded during the similar period last year.
Meanwhile, cases of shootings declined by 311, moving from 1,103 in 2024 to 692 in 2025.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force is also reporting a decline in cases of rape, down by 123 from 435 last year to 312 this year.
However, robberies increased by 50, moving from 634 to 684.
Break-ins also rose by 155, from 913 in 2024 to 1,068 this year.
Overall, major crimes declined by 705 cases, representing a 17.1% reduction when compared to last year.
