“We’re safe!” – JAMLAT marks Jamaicans safe in Mexico; Foreign Affairs Minister says no report of injury

Jamaicans living in Mexico have sought to assure that they are safe, following unrest in the western part of the country.
According to international media, the upsurge in violence follows the death of the nation’s most wanted and reputed head of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Nemesio “El Mencho” Cervantes in a Mexican military operation yesterday.
Mexico has deployed thousands of soldiers to bolster security after the violence erupted.
There is concern about Jamaicans in Mexico.
