Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says, a meeting yesterday with United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, was productive.
Rubio was in St Kitts and Nevis, where the 50th regular meeting, of the Conference of heads of Government, of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), is being held.
He had private talks with leaders of various Caribbean countries.
Dr. Holness said he had productive discussions with Rubio, reaffirming the strong and historic ties between Jamaica and the U.S., and the shared commitment to working together.
Meanwhile, in an update on social media, about his discussions with Caricom leaders, Rubio said, under President Donald Trump, the U.S., has strengthened its relationship with Caribbean partners, by working together to end illicit drug trafficking, and promote economic growth, for both regions.
