Three fatally shot during alleged confrontation with security forces in Coral Gardens, St. James

Three persons were fatally shot during an alleged confrontation with members of the security forces in Coral Gardens, St. James, sometime between last night and this morning.

The Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM confirmed the incident.

It said investigators are still ascertaining the details.

According to the Commission, the incident has pushed the number of persons who have died in alleged confrontations with the security forces since the start of February, to 19.

INDECOM said since the start of the year, 47 deaths have resulted from alleged confrontations with the security forces.
