JTA receives formal communication from Education Ministry about payment of increments

The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) says it has received formal communication from the Ministry of Education about the payment of increments.
President Mark Malabver made the disclosure during an interview with IRIE FM News.
According to Mr. Malabver the government agreed to pay the increments but did not provide a date.
He noted however, that the development is a step closer, to the conclusion of the matter.
Mr. Malabver added that the government has provided a new wage offer to the island’s teachers.
He said further discussions in relation to this matter are underway.
