Party promoters and residents in Exchange, St. Ann urged to cooperate with police to curtail crime
Party promoters and residents in Exchange, St. Ann are being urged to cooperate with the police as efforts continue to curtail crime in the community.
Commander for the Ocho Rios police station Inspector Karen Buddan made the plea at a Townhall meeting in Exchange recently.
According to Inspector Buddan, the ban on parties within the area remains in an effort to minimize crowded events which oftentimes enable criminal activities.
However, applications are being treated case by case.
Responding to questions at the meeting Inspector Buddan called on party promoters and residents to be more understanding and cooperative, noting that efforts to reduce crime and make the community safer will require their full partnership with the police.
She also called on residents to report strange faces within the community.
Inspector Buddan pointed out that persons who dress well or have prestigious occupations can also be criminals.
