The Fi We Children Foundation (FWCF) is calling on the Government to urgently review and increase the daily lunch allocation provided to students under the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH).

The FWCF argues that the current amount of $250 per day per PATH student is insufficient in today’s economic climate.

It notes that the PATH lunch programme remains one of the country’s most important social support initiatives, assisting vulnerable children who depend on school meals for daily nutrition.

FWCF Policy Committee Member, Sabrina Barnes, emphasises that proper nutrition is directly linked to concentration, behaviour, academic performance and overall well-being.

She says while recognising the Government’s competing national priorities, including school restoration and infrastructure development, students’ nutrition must not remain on the back burner.
