PM and Opposition Leader urge Jamaicans to step forward in service and to reflect on dignity of work this Labour Day
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness in his Labour Day message, urged Jamaicans to step forward in service to their communities and to others.
Labour Day is being observed under the theme “ One People, One Purpose: In All Things Jamaica Wins.”
Dr. Holness said that nation building is not the work of the Government alone, but is the responsibility of every citizen through their effort, discipline and care for community.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Mark Golding encouraged Jamaicans to reflect on the dignity of work, the sacrifices of ordinary people and the collective spirit that continues to carry Jamaica forward.
This year’s two national projects for Labour Day are: the Lewis Town Early Childhood Institution In St. Elizabeth which was severely affected by Hurricane Melissa and Sabina Park in Kingston.
