PM Holness says announcement will be made soon about further investment to boost capabilities of JDF

Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness says an announcement will be made soon about further investment to boost the capabilities of the Jamaica Defence Force.

This is expected to enable the country to boost its response capabilities particularly via airlift, especially during emergencies or disasters.

Dr. Holness highlighted challenges faced in getting to marooned communities after Hurricane Melissa last October.

He was speaking at the launch of the National Disaster Risk Management Council meeting.
