Property owners will soon have another method of protecting their assets via the Government’s electronic titling system.
Minister with Responsibility for Settlements, Robert Montague, gave the update during his contribution to the Sectoral Debate in Parliament yesterday.
Montage explained that through the digitisation of processes and services, the National Land Agency will begin issuing electronic titles by next September.
He said e-titles will allow for property watch, where owners can be alerted if someone attempts adverse possession of their land.
In addition to the property watch service, owners can take cases relating to adverse possession to the local adjudication committee.
