Another call has been made for the Government and society to do more to provide better access to buildings for the disabled community.
The call has come from Managing Director of the Jamaica Charity for the Homeless and Disabled, Cleon Porter.
It follows a recent video which has gone viral on social media showing a disabled student being lifted by persons to collect her certificate at a graduation ceremony.
Commenting on the matter, Mr. Porter said Jamaica is still behind as it relates to catering for the disabled community.
He called on the Government to take further steps to equip buildings with the features to grant easier access to members of the disabled community.
He also pleaded with the Government to invest more in improving access at the island’s schools.
