Jamaica to experience more showers, thunderstorms and windy conditions as a tropical wave moves across the island today
By Sugar Ray Thomas
The island will continue to experience showers, thunderstorms and windy conditions as a tropical wave moves quickly across the island today.
Meteorologist at the National Met Centre, Racquel Smith provided the update to IRIE FM News.
IRIE FM News received reports of high tides resulting in flooding in sections of Port Royal yesterday while minor flooding occurred in sections of other parishes including Ocho Rios, St. Ann.
Ms. Smith said the tropical wave and low-level jet stream contributed to these conditions.
She said the thunderstorms should reduce by tomorrow adding that a small craft warning is in effect due to the winds associated with the low-level jet stream.
Meanwhile, Ms. Smith said residents in Port Royal can expect more high tides due to the low-level jet stream lingering into next week.
