St. James police conducting security audit of Bickersteth Primary and Infant School following break-in

The St. James police are conducting a security audit of the Bickersteth Primary and Infant School, following a break-in at the institution yesterday.

This resulted in classes being suspended at the school for the remainder of the week.

It is reported that food items and about 15 laptops were stolen.

Head of the division, Senior Superintendent Eron Samuels, noted that additional security measures may need to be implemented at the Bickersteth Primary School.

SSP Samuels said police have also received reports of break-ins at several other schools.

He said in many of the incidents, valuable items such as laptops were also stolen.

SSP Samuels said investigators theorise that the robbers obtained information about the devices being delivered recently.
