The Ministry of Labour and Social Security is advising that information circulating on social media about beneficiary records under the Restoration of Owner or Occupant Family Shelters (ROOFS) programme is false and misleading.
In a statement, the Ministry said the table being shared does not reflect accurate or official beneficiary records and should not be regarded as authentic information.
It says steps have been taken to address the matter, including requesting the removal or correction of the misleading information to prevent further circulation.
The Ministry is reminding members of the public of the importance of respecting data protection and privacy, particularly when sharing information that purports to contain individuals’ personal details.
It warns that the circulation of inaccurate information can create unnecessary confusion and undermine public confidence in the delivery of assistance to affected households.
The Ministry says it remains committed to transparency, accountability and the protection of beneficiaries’ information.
It is also encouraging members of the public to verify all information relating to the ROOFS programme through official communication channels.
