Alana Reid, the World U20 100m champion, has signed an endorsement deal with Burger King Jamaica, becoming the latest brand ambassador for the fast-food chain.

The partnership, initially set for one year with the possibility of extension until 2028, will see Reid participating in public appearances and sports development initiatives.

Reid made her debut as ambassador on Tuesday at the launch of the 2024 Burger King 5K and Relay event at the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at Jamaica College in Kingston. The race, scheduled for November 10, will feature Reid leading warm-up exercises and interacting with participants.

Reid's success on the international stage has established her as a rising star in Jamaican athletics. She was part of Jamaica’s 4x100m relay team that finished fifth at the Paris Olympic Games in August and followed up with a dominant performance at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru, where she secured two gold medals. Reid clocked 11.17 seconds to win the 100m, leading a Caribbean sweep with Adaejah Hodge of the British Virgin Islands and Kishawna Niles of Barbados, before anchoring Jamaica’s 4x100m relay team to another gold.
