Investigators attached to the St Andrew North Division charged 47-year-old Micheal Nelson, a businessman of Farewell Avenue, Kingston 19, following an incident on Constant Spring Road, in the parish, on Friday, December 6.

He has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Reports from the Constant Spring police are that between the hours of 9:00 am and 1:30 pm, lawmen conducted an intelligence-led operation at Nelson's business establishment.

During the investigations, Nelson handed over one Taurus GZC pistol affixed with a magazine containing six 9mm rounds to the police.

Nelson was subsequently arrested and later charged following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

A court date is yet to be finalized.
