Councillor for Savanna-la-Mar Division Julian Chang resigns from PNP; Party says efforts diligently pursued to address her issues
Councillor for the Savanna-la-Mar Division in Westmoreland, Julian Chang, has resigned from the People’s National Party (PNP).
The PNP, in a statement yesterday, said it received her resignation.
The Councillor had previously raised some concerns and allegations to the Party.
In its statement, the Party said it wanted to place on record that, in good faith and through its various internal structures, considerable efforts were made to address and mediate the concerns that arose between Councillor Chang and others within the Constituency leadership.
The party stated that those efforts were pursued diligently and with the genuine hope of resolution.
It added that, unfortunately, despite the commitment brought to that process, those efforts were ultimately not successful.
The PNP said its immediate focus remains on the residents of the Savanna-la-Mar Division and the people of Westmoreland.
The PNP has thanked Councillor Chang for her service to the people of the division and for her contributions during her time as a member of the Party.
