Detectives assigned to the Westmoreland Policing Division have charged 27-year-old Donieka Segree, unemployed, of Morass, Hertford District, Westmoreland, with murder, following an incident at her home on Wednesday, December 18.
Dead is 50-year-old Vernon Mclntosh of Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland.
Reports from the Savanna-la-mar police are that at about 11:40 pm, Mcintosh visited the home of Segree following a break-up conversation they had earlier that day.
Whilst conversing, an argument developed. Mclntosh got boisterous and hit Segree in the face.
Segree it.is.reportwd took up a knife and used it to inflict stab wounds on the now deceased.
He was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
On Friday, December 20, the accused subsequently gave a caution statement to the police confessing to the murder of Mclntosh; a question and answer session wasconducted, after which she was formally charged.
Her court date is being finalized.
