The Industrial Disputes Tribunal (IDT) has ordered workers at the Kingston Freeport Terminal Limited to refrain from taking industrial action.
The workers protested earlier this month, amidst tensions over union representation.
They are seeking to switch from the Trade Union Congress to the Port Supervisors’ Union.
The Labour Ministry then intervened and referred the matter to the IDT for settlement.
The IDT said any threatened industrial action must not take place.
It also ordered that any action already underway must cease immediately and that normal operations be restored and maintained.
