Two-time World Championship 400m hurdles bronze medallist Rushell Clayton has joined the lineup of Jamaican athletes set to compete in the inaugural Grand Slam Track event, scheduled to begin in 2025.

Clayton joins Ackera Nugent and Roshawn Clarke, who were signed last week.

“I've worked so hard to get to this point and I'm ready to give Grand Slam Track my all in every single race,” Clayton said. “I’m focused and ready to be part of making history. This is just the beginning.”

Clayton is the second-fastest Jamaican ever in the 400m hurdles and the first to break 53 seconds since 2011. She recently finished fifth in the event at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Clayton was among 10 new Grand Slam Racers signed on Wednesday. Other athletes include Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic, Jess Hull of Australia, and USA's Daniel Roberts, Shamier Little, Devon Allen, and Jasmine Jones, along with Marco Arop (Canada), Jereem Richards (Trinidad and Tobago), and Luis Grijalva (Guatemala).

The latest signings bring the total number of Racers confirmed for all four Grand Slam events in 2025 to 30.

Each year, 48 athletes will be named as Grand Slam Track Racers, committing to compete in all four events. They receive annual contracts, base compensation, prize money eligibility, and support services. Other notable names announced so far include Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Fred Kerley, and Grant Fisher.

Another 48 athletes will be selected as Grand Slam Track Challengers, receiving appearance fees to compete in individual events.
