Kingston Mayor Andrew Swaby has noted that Carnival in Jamaica was a success, despite the shooting incident at Big Wall.
Mayor Swaby said stakeholders ensured that the series of events were well organized and executed.
He also highlighted that after Carnival, the streets were cleared in a timely manner.
This was a marked change from previous events which left many citizens upset about garbage and paint left behind.
Mayor Swaby said Carnival continues to be an economic driver in multiple sectors for the Corporate Area.
The mayor condemned the shooting incident at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, on Sunday night.
He was speaking at the monthly meeting of the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Cooperation (KSAMC), on Tuesday.
