Mona, KC, Waterford cruise to dominant wins on Manning Cup Matchday 11

Defending champions Mona High, Kingston College (KC), and Waterford High secured dominant wins on matchday 11 of the urban-area ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup football competition on Saturday.

Mona cruised to a 3-0 victory over Charlie Smith in their Zone B game at the Arnett Gardens Sports Complex, maintaining their perfect start to the season. The win lifts Mona to 12 points from four matches, giving them a three-point lead at the top of their six-team group over second-placed Jonathan Grant High, who edged Tarrant High 1-0.

Charlie Smith, suffering their first loss in three games, remain third with six points.

Waterford High claimed their first win of the season with a resounding 9-0 victory over rock-bottom Gaynstead High at Waterford. The win moved Waterford to fourth place on three points, while Tarrant also sit on three points but are fifth. Gaynstead remain without a point, having conceded 39 goals across four games.

In Zone C, KC eased to a 5-0 win at Campion College to retain their lead on goal difference over Penwood High, who secured a 1-0 win against Jose Marti High at Marvely Football Field.

Both KC and Penwood are tied on 10 points from four matches, while Campion, suffering their first defeat, remain third with seven points. Jose Marti are fourth with four points.

Meanwhile, in Zone G, St George's College and St Catherine High played to a 0-0 draw in a top-of-the-table clash. St George’s lead the group with 10 points from four matches, three points clear of second-placed St Catherine, who have played one fewer game.

In the rural-area ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup, William Knibb High secured their fourth consecutive win in Zone D, defeating Cedric Titus 3-0 at Trelawny Stadium.

Goals from Joshua Walker (36th minute), Jaheem Brown (50th), and Seron Williams (68th) kept William Knibb atop the standings, tied on 12 points with Spot Valley, who also won 3-0 against Muschett High in the first game at Trelawny Stadium.

Cedric Titus sit third with six points, while Discovery Bay are fourth with three points. Muschett and Holland are yet to score a point.
