Agriculture Minister, Floyd Green said there’s no truth to claims that residents who grow food in their backyard must register with the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA).
He was responding to a social media video in which a man falsely claimed that legislation was passed to restrict backyard farming.
In an Instagram video yesterday, Mr. Green stressed that registration with RADA is only intended for commercial agricultural production.
He noted that the ministry has been on a campaign to encourage backyard farming.
Mr. Green warned persons to verify facts before sharing misinformation.
