Opposition Leader labels Trelawny resident displacement a ‘humanitarian calamity’ – IRIE Fm

Opposition Leader Mark Golding has described the displacement of residents of Cooper’s Pen, Trelawny, following a demolition exercise, as a humanitarian calamity.

Mr. Golding led a delegation of officials from the People’s National Party on a visit to the community today.

He said the government must now take steps to relocate the affected residents.

Mr. Golding called on the prime minister, who has responsibility for land, to expedite the process.
