Seiveright says improving crime situation and stable economy helping to put Jamaica on the radar of more American investors

Jamaica’s improving crime situation, stable economy and major post hurricane Melissa rebuilding programme are helping to put the country on the radar of more American investors.

That’s according to State Minister of Investment Delano Seiveright.

He was speaking recently at the Marriott International luncheon during a major investment summit in Miami, Florida in the United States.

Addressing American corporate executives, hotel owners, and investors, Mr. Seiveright pointed out that in 2025 Jamaica recorded its lowest annual murders in several decades.

He added that Jamaica is investing billions of dollars in creating climate-resilient infrastructure, giving investors greater confidence to expand in the island.

Mr. Seiveright said Jamaica’s message to investors is straightforward: the country is safer, more resilient and more competitive than it was years ago.
