Jamaicans have taken to social media after reports of another earthquake being felt in sections of Jamaica on Sunday morning.

Some persons have been commenting on X (formerly Twitter) that the shaking was felt in Kingston and St Andrew, Clarendon and St Thomas, as well as St James.

"An earthquake was reported as felt at approximately 10:50 am in Jamaica. Did you feel it?" asked the Earthquake Unit in Jamaica in a post on X.

In response, one user said: "Felt in New Kingston", while another man wrote that it was "felt in Clarendon".

Other persons commented that the tremor was felt in Hope Pastures, St Andrew; St Thomas, and as far as St James.

Elsewhere on X, veterinarian-turned-media personality, Terri-Karelle Johnson, asked: "Was there a tremor?"

Similarly, South East St Ann Member of Parliament (MP), Lisa Hanna, asked: "Was that an earthquake?"

Added a man: "Rain and now earthquake? How much more can Jamaica take? Have mercy!"

The Earthquake Unit in Jamaica has not yet provided the magnitude of the tremor which reportedly also affected The Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Haiti and Cuba in the Caribbean region.

However, the Android Earthquake Alerts System put the estimated magnitude at 5.4. It occurred 52km from Pilon, Cuba, and was felt across the Greater Antilles.

More details are to be provided on the development later.
