St. Ann’s Bay Mayor hails Reggae Sumfest traffic plan a success

Mayor of St. Ann’s Bay Michael Belnavis says he is pleased that the traffic management measures implemented during Saturday’s staging of Reggae Sumfest were successful.

This year, the annual music festival was held at Plantation Cove, Priory in St. Ann, sparking concerns among residents in the parish about traffic congestion.

This, as major events in the past have led to a gridlock and disruptions for the commuting public.

However, Mayor Belnavis told Irie FM News that the St. Ann Municipal Corporation, the event organizers, the police, and other stakeholders anticipated the influx of vehicles and planned accordingly.

He said, no gridlock was experienced.
