Commander for the St. James Police Division, Senior Superintendent Eron Samuels, says there is no need for alarm over the parish experiencing a marginal increase in murders so far this year.
He made the statement at the St. James Municipal Corporation meeting today.
SSP Samuels said 37 murders have been recorded so far this year, representing an increase of seven killings, when compared to the corresponding period last year.
He said an increase in interpersonal conflicts has contributed to the number of killings recorded this year.
The senior law enforcer assured that the police will continue to collaborate with the parish’s stakeholders to contain crime.
