A St. Mary man has been charged with robbery with aggravation and being armed with an offensive weapon after allegedly robbing a student in Bailey’s Vale in the parish yesterday.
Charged is 21-year-old Jevaun Clarke, otherwise called “Jah” of Free Hill, St. Mary.
Reports from the Port Maria police are that about 2:50 P.M., a teenage girl was walking along the roadway when a white Toyota Axio motorcar approached and stopped.
Clarke, who was reportedly armed with a knife, exited the vehicle and robbed the girl of her cellular phone.
The matter was reported to the police and Clarke later turned himself in.
He handed over both the knife and the stolen cellphone.
He was charged after being identified by the teenager.
A court date is being finalised.
