‘Taxi man’ charged with assault after alleged machete attack on female

Forty-year-old Dwayne Ferguson, a taxi operator of Cherry Gardens, Spanish Town, St Catherine has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and assault at common law following an incident along Wellington Street, Spanish Town in the parish on Friday, August 23.

Reports are that about 10:30 am, Ferguson visited his spouse at her place of employment and a argument developed.

During the argument, Ferguson allegedly slapped the woman in her face several times causing pain and swelling. He then proceeded to point a machete in her face.

A report was made to the police and Ferguson was subsequently arrested and charged on Friday, September 28.

A court date for Ferguson is being finalised.
