Kingston College (KC) basked in glory on Monday as they celebrated a dominant 2024 schoolboy football season at their North Street campus.

The ‘Purples’ marked their dominance with a triple crown of victories, igniting festivities just four months ahead of the school’s centenary celebrations.

Established in 1925, KC once again cemented their legacy in Jamaican football, capturing two senior titles and one junior championship. On December 6, their senior team clinched a 17th Manning Cup title with a 3-1 victory over first-time finalists St Catherine High School. Just days later, on December 14, KC added their 11th Olivier Shield to the trophy cabinet after a dramatic 4-3 sudden-death penalty shootout win over daCosta Cup champions Garvey Maceo High School.

This 17th Manning Cup title firmly establishes KC as one of the titans of the competition, trailing only Jamaica College (31 titles) and St George’s College (22 titles). The win also marked a milestone for KC’s technical director and head coach, Vassell Reynolds, who joined an elite group of coaches to have won both the urban-area Manning Cup and rural-area daCosta Cup titles.

The junior team added their own chapter to the school’s success story, claiming the Under-14 championship on December 13 with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over arch-rivals St George’s College.

The celebrations reflected a season of excellence, unity, and the indomitable spirit of KC football. As the school prepares to mark 100 years of history, these victories underscore a legacy of greatness.
