A woman was shot and killed by unknown assailants at the New Testament Church of God in Montego Bay St. James today.
Her identity has not yet been released.
Its reported that the woman was at the entrance of the church when a vehicle approached.
An armed man, wearing a mask, alighted from the car and opened fire, hitting the woman multiple times.
The shooting took place while the church was hosting its fasting service, with the reactions of other members captured on the live stream.
The woman was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Representatives of the church were too traumatised to speak about the incident.
Commanding Officer for the St. James Police Division Senior Superintendent Eron Samuels said no effort will be spared in finding the alleged attacker.
