National Security Minister, Dr. Horace Chang is rejecting any narrative that suggests that the police force is a corrupt body.
He is also calling for Jamaicans to trust elected officials.
Dr. Chang’s remarks, come amid renewed discussions about the use of body-worn cameras (BWCs) by members of the security forces.
When asked for an update during a post-Cabinet press briefing this morning, Dr. Chang reiterated that the Police Commissioner will determine when the cameras are worn.
He also noted that the discourse regarding the devices are linked to the belief by some people that the police body is corrupt.
Dr. Chang dismissed that notion, noting that it is time that citizens trust authority.
He admitted that police officers are not perfect.
