A 28-year-old construction worker is to face the court soon after he allegedly broke into a supermarket in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, on Thursday, July 2.
Jason Matthews of Rose Lane, Kingston, is charged with House Breaking and Larceny (Shop).
The Ocho Rios Police say that at about 2:40 A.M., they were alerted to a break-in at a supermarket in the area.
Upon their arrival at the location, Matthews was handed over to the police team.
A search of the premises led to the recovery of US$4,644 at the rear of the building and J$253,000 on the roof.
Matthews was taken into custody and later charged after allegedly confessing to the crime.
His court date is being finalised.
