Skillibeng is closing out the year on a musical high with another milestone, as the song “Jump,” his collaboration with South African singer Tyla and American rapper Gunna, has earned silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
The track was certified silver on Friday, December 6, after surpassing 200,000 units in sales and streaming in the United Kingdom.
The track is featured on Tyla’s self-titled debut album for Fax/Epic Records. The song was released on March 22, and it was previously certified gold in Canada (40,000 units) and Brazil (20,000 units).
“Jump” has been successful on several Billboard and global music charts. It registered positions on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs, World Digital Song Sales, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay, Hot R&B Songs, Rhythmic Top 40 Airplay and Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts.
Outside of the US, Jump stalled at #87 on the Canada Hot 100, while making its presence felt on major charts in New Zealand, Greece, South Africa, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Nigeria and Switzerland.
Skillibeng previously earned a silver certification in the UK with the song "Crocodile Teeth", which was issued a Brit certification in September 2023.
“Jump” is nominated for a Billboard Music Award in the category Top Afrobeats Song. The awards ceremony will air December 12 on the Fox network.
American urban publication Vibe magazine listed “Jump” at #4 on its list of the Songs of the Summer survey. British music, film, culture and gaming publication NME (New Musical Express) ranked “Jump”at #13 on its list of The 50 Best Songs of 2024 survey.
