Electricity will be restored to the St Elizabeth capital, returning power to several key institutions including the Black River hospital.
The announcement was made by President and Chief Executive Officer at the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) Hugh Grant.
The town has been without power since October 28, when it was devastated by Hurricane Melissa.
In recent weeks, the company has been working to return power mainly to western parishes, the hardest hit areas.
Speaking at the official launch of the JPS emergency mobile power generation unit in Treasure Beach today, Mr Grant said the company through creative solutions will restore power to a number of important entities in Black River for Christmas.
Mr Grant further outlined that teams are on the ground working towards the commitment for Black River.
