The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) says it will maximize its operational capacity in light of the increase in police fatal shootings in 2025.
Last year at least 311 persons died in alleged confrontations with the security forces.
Yesterday, the first day of the new year, police reported fatal shooting incidents in Granville St James and Bethel Town Westmoreland.
3 people died in Granville including a four-year-old child and another 3 died Bethel Town.
Commissioner of INDECOM Hugh Faulkner again expressed concern about a rise in police fatal shootings during planned operations.
Meanwhile, the commissioner outlined that up to September 30, last year 67 law enforcement personnel were ruled for charge.
