The Bustamante Industrial Trade Union (BITU) has called on the Ministry of Labour to intervene in an ongoing dispute with the JTA.

This is reportedly over long-outstanding payments owed to its workers.

BITU represents security, ancillary, accounting and clerical staff at the JTA.

It says increments and seniority payments dating back to 2017 remain unresolved despite repeated commitments by JTA management to settle the matter by 2024.

The union says although payments were issued in late January following worker action, several employees have reported serious inaccuracies.

It notes that JTA management failed to honour its commitment to provide detailed calculations through the Ministry by February 13, 2026.
