TODSS says while restriction on movement due to fuel cost hikes will hurt public transport sector, such a measure is understandable
One taxi group has stated that while any restriction on movement due to fuel cost hikes will hurt the public transport sector, such a measure is understandable.
President of the Transport Operators Development Sustainable Services, Egeton Newman lamented that Jamaica is already feeling the effects of the war in the Middle East, but it seems many people are not aware of this.
He was reacting to comments by Energy and Transport Minister Daryl Vaz yesterday at the Post Cabinet press briefing, about the Government considering policies to limit movement due to the pressure of global oil price increases, and also urging citizens to conserve.
Newman said the issue of fuel and transport must be taken seriously.
He agreed with Vaz that Government may have to implement another work from home regime, similar to what obtained during the COVID pandemic.
