Two men were fatally shot by police in separate incidents between yesterday and this morning.
Dead are 32-year-old Samtone Flynch of Baileys Vale, St. Mary and an unidentified man.
The latest incident occurred at around 6:10 this morning in Bayshore Park, Kingston.
Flynch, who was listed a person of interest in several cases in St. Ann and St. Mary was fatally shot in that incident.
Police say during an operation, officers were in the process of breaching the premises when Flynch allegedly pointed a firearm towards them.
In response, the officers reportedly opened fire at Flynch hitting him.
Police report that a 9mm pistol was retrieved from Flynch and he was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Lawmen say Flynch was wanted for questioning in connection to the August 26, 2025 murder of Arlene Callum in St. Ann.
In the other incident lawmen say at about 8:25 pm, a team of officers was on a covert operation in the Mona, Pine of Karachi and Beverly Hills area in St. Andrew in relation to a shooting incident that took place earlier in the day.
Police say the team was briefed with the description of the suspects and whilst traveling along the intersection of Karachi Drive and Mona Road a man fitting the description of one of the suspects was seen along Mona Road.
The team reportedly attempted to apprehend the man when he reportedly reached for his waist band, and held on to a firearm.
Lawmen say in fear of their lives, the team responded and fired at the man.
He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say one Hi-Point pistol with a magazine affixed containing five live rounds was allegedly seized.
The Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) and the Police Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB) are investigating the incidents.
