A 59 year old construction worker will soon face the court after he reportedly failed to carryout renovation activities on a property despite receiving payment from the owner.

Patrick Patterson, of Tavern, Kingston 6, has been charged with fraudulent conversion, in relation to the incident, which happened between May 2024 and July 2025.

Police say the property owner reportedly paid Patterson $500,000.

He then ceased all work on the property.

Patterson also reportedly stopped communicating with the owner.

The matter was reported to the police, who made several unsuccessful attempts to contact Patterson.

On Wednesday, April 8, Patterson was featured in the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s social media ‘Wanted Wednesdays’ campaign.

On Monday, April 13, he was handed over to the police by his attorney.

Patterson was later charged, following a question-and-answer session.

His court date is being finalised.
