Tourism Ministry to establish special safety task force for carnival events

Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett says a special task force is being established to ensure that safety measures are administered at carnival events.

This follows a shooting incident at a post-carnival party at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, in St. Andrew, last Sunday.

A popular vlogger and a United States national are among three men shot and wounded in the incident.

Another man is still in hospital.

Gun related charges have since been laid against two men, including the popular vlogger.

Mr. Bartlett said the special task force will help prevent a recurrence of any such incident.
