Government has allocated $800 million towards the construction of 95 greenhouses across 4 parishes, before year end.
The announcement was made by Agriculture Minister Floyd Green during his Sectoral Debate presentation in Parliament, yesterday.
He noted that protected agriculture is critical in building resilience in the climate-vulnerable sector.
He added that under the US $50 million Green Climate Fund Adapt Jamaica project a series of greenhouses will be designed and built to withstand category five hurricanes.
