Chaotic scenes in Mandeville yesterday as armed men and police engage in gun battle

There were chaotic scenes in Mandeville, Manchester yesterday as people ran for cover while police and alleged armed men engaged in a gun battle.

Residents recounted that the shots were fired amid a high speed chase in the vicinity of a gas station on Newleigh Road.

When the shooting subsided they were able to see a bullet riddled white Toyota Axio motor car.

Two men were fatally shot by the police during the incident.

They remain unidentified. 

Police also recovered 2 guns.

The residents described yesterday’s event as frightening.
